Thermodynamic Irreversibility, Topological Torsion, and Hydrodynamics.

Recent experiments by Kuibin and Okulov on an open turbulent flow lend credence to the concept that turbulent flows and other irreversible evolutionary processes reside on a space of topological dimension greater than 3. Remarkably, at the 1997 SIMFLO conference in Copenhagen, a prediction was made that helical vortex defect lines would be indicators of a turbulent irreversible process. Remarkably the day the Russian experimenters presented evidence that seemed to corraborate the prediction.
