A rotating electromagnetic plasma that has helical structure but ZERO helicity
density offers some interesting properties for modeling the magnetic properties
of stars like the sun, and planets such as Saturn with equatorial accretion
discs. In particular examples, the component of the Lorentz force parallel to
the plasma rotation axis is directed to the equatorial plane from both above and
below. This electromagnetic force on a plasma thereby offers an explanation for
the stabile concentration of matter in the equatorial plane of astrophysical
objects like Saturn.
